What do I need to make mTC run?
You simply need Java Runtime Envrinment (JRE) 1.5 and above.
To check the version of Java you have installed, just open your terminal/command prompt and type Code:
java -version |

What files does mTC create on my computer?
mTC creates the following on your computer:
To find out exactly where these files are created, open mTC > Help > System > mTC Version & Working Directory After closing a theme or mTC the folder contents should automatically delete, if you notice that they did not delete, open mTC > Goto Help > Preferences > Press Clear at Clear temporary folder... this will remove the mTC temporary folder and all its contents. |

I am getting an SVG error, what am I doing wrong?
If you are trying to add an image to your theme, but a window pops up with an SVG error, more likely you are adding images from a folder or directory that contains special characters, simply change the directory from using special characters to latin characters.
If you are a Windows user, and your username in Windows is using special characters (Arabic, Greek, Chinese, etc.) follow these steps:

I create a theme for my phone and now it is opening as a different model
Although mTC can automatically detect the theme , there are situations that a theme might be detected to work for a different device. What you can do here is very simply:

How do I run mTC using the Linux bundle
A
This bundle works for all users with any operating system, as long as you have the Java Runtime installed (1.5 or above), if you do not have the JRE installed Click Here. You should download mTC-v2.xx_Linux_Unix.zip found in the mTC Download Thread
If again you are having trouble starting mTC, check if you have the Java Runtime Installed (www.java.com)
NOTE LINUX USERS: If the standard java -jar mTC.jar does not work, you may have not set java 1.5 as your default runtime so you have to specify the complete location of both java and mTC i.e. "/home/USERNAME/jre1.5.0_11/bin/java -jar /home/USERNAME/Desktop/mTC.jar" To make things easier and not type the complete directory each time you want to run mTC, please create a Custom mTC Launcher |

Can I create a template of images for my theme?
As of mTC 2.11, you can quickly make a template of a series of PNG images with the correct dimensions for the corresponding image elements of the theme.
This can be achieved either by:
You have to select a folder for mTC to generate the image to. All Images: Exports all theme image fields Only Empty Images: Only exports the theme image fields that you have not added an image yet The images are saved using the name of the corresponding images titles for the theme. NOTE: We recommend you export within a new. folder to easily manage the images |

Creating a launcher is simple for Linux based users, let's use the desktop to do this:

[Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Version=1.0 Type=Application Exec=/home/USERNAME/jre1.5.0_11/bin/java -jar /home/USERNAME/Desktop/mTC.jar TryExec= Icon=/home/USERNAME/mTC_logo.png X-GNOME-DocPath= Terminal=true Name[en_AU]=mTC Launcher GenericName[en_AU]=mTC Linux Launcher Comment[en_AU]=Launcher for linux users Name=mTC Launcher GenericName=mTC Linux Launcher Comment=Launcher for linux users |

Can I drag images to add them to my theme?
Yes you can! As of mTC v2.11 you can quickly add images to your theme simply dragging them to the Current Screen area of mTC. Make sure you are using the exact & recommended dimensions for you image or mTC will not add the images using the drag and drop.
mTC automatically adds the image for you to the corresponding place in your theme so you don't have to waste time trying to find your images, here is an example of how Drag and Drop works: We have selected a K800 theme, the Current Screen is showing the Standby Screen, and you drag a 240x320 (width x height) image to the Current Screen. Even though the Desktop and Background use the same size mTC knows that you are working on the Standby Screen so the image is added for that screen to the Standby Image field. Now if you want to add a Desktop image you simply change the Current Screen to the Desktop Screen and add the image there, it will automatically go to the Desktop Image Screen. NOTE: if you want to add an image which dimensions are different and the image does not add using the drag and drop method, simply add them the conventional way using either the Theme Editor or the Graphics Editor |
