Mobile Phone Hacking via SMS etc.

Hello,

It's news to me. Recently, I watched a two hour documentary on hacking a mobile phone via SMS. I am trying to get access to these software or any technical info as to how it is accomplished.

The procedure involved sending a message (the text that will be displayed on the recipient's screen PLUS a small piece of software (the virus) which is, naturally, undetactable.

Thereafter, the microphone on the recipient's phone can be switched ON even when the phone is OFF, therefore, listening in to the conversation without any visual indication that the phone is transmitting.

Another method involved, the re-transmitting of

(a) all text, image, messages send out or received by the recipients phone (the bugged phone), again, without any indication what so ever, and

(b) the recording of all verbal communications received or made through the bugged phone.

Thank

If you find anything, pls post it. I've also heard that you can lock someone's phone only by sending an SMS, but the procedure worked only on Siemens phones. For all I know, there could be a similar procedure for the other brands.

Kobra, I have heard that this is really possible, police knows more, I am pretty sure the only thing u can do about it, is to take the battery out of your mobile. But dont aks me how it is possible, coz I dont know and I cant even imagine, because when u switch the phone off, it means u have disconnected from the mobile net right?

Some viruses were created for Series 60 phones (mainly Nokia) e.g creating themes that are actually viruses. They could be transfered via SMS using Wap push, or someone could "bug" your phone when you don't know it by installing the virus. The phone is not really switched off, this is why the police and all authorities advise you to take out the battery.

@OneWholiveLong

The battery that powers the clock cannot power the GSM transmit signal, it's simply not strong enough.

Notice how much power is required to actually call the device.

i know that im not stupid but there is enough power to keep circuit up so that informations dont delete in that case so it is usles to tacke out batery coz when you turn on mobile it will still be infected if the virus exist

same thing is in PC why dont you lose informatiuon on HDD when you unplug it its coz of the secundary suplay inside

And i know of some type of virus by sms they send you combination of numbers and lethers in it and it turn your mobile of but macke no harm

Hello,

The TV program was broadcasted from Europe, for demonstation purposes involved a government minister, other government officials (military) and academics, the program was purchased by the TV Show Host for ~$350 Euro dollars and is readily available. No source, however, was mentioned.

In addition, it showed another piece of instrument, worth about $400 euro dollars, this allows eavdropping on an mobile phone antenna within a distance of 1000meters on any mobile phone convesation.

YES, IT CAN BE DONE WITH SMS, MMS & BLUETOOTH.

Sincerely

Do you remember what European station aired this show?

Perhaps other users on the forum watched the same program.
