*Graphic distinction of contacts from ICQ, Yahoo, MSN and cMessenger icons.
*Reception and sending of ON-LINE messages to and from contacts on the list.
*Reception of message from contact not listed.
*Indication of number of received messages for contacts.
*Notification of reception of incoming message through a tone, vibration, or illumination, which can be set individually.

hi ,
sorry You have to sign up at cleverlance .
http://cmessenger.cleverlance.com/cmweb/Web?topic=adduser&id=10644056589780&lang=en
Even if it look like an email-adreress it isn't.
The only thing they want from you are:
- The username you want (doesn't need to be your ICQ/MSN nick)
- A password (doesn't need to be your ICQ/MSN one either)
- Your mailadress.
Then you are able to connect several ICQ and MSN numbers to your cMessenger account!
Thanks
hmm if find it weird.. on the site i can see my contact list, so thats not the problem.. it still doesn't work :(

I get the "Connecting" message that never goes away too. -(
I suspect it is using the wrong APN I have a (UK) Vodafone T610 which is preset up for "Vodafone LIVE!". That means the first GPRS APN is for their "walled garden" whcih doesn't route to the internet. To get mail to work I had to add another APN to the internet.
Does anyone know how this application decides which APN to use?
Cheers

Perhaps there's an alternative. There's another messenger wich supports MSN, ICQ, AOL and Jabber.
Check the site at http://www.shapeservices.de
You can install the client by typing the following URL in the WAP browser of the T610:
http://im.shapeservices.de/midp_im_full.jad
No registration required and works perfectly.

cMessanger just gets stuck at connecting.. i'm trying to download the new program u tipped us about, but i can't seem to get it.. "download failed" thats the message i get after letting the phone try to download it for a while..
ShapeServices IM+ is "The" R0x0rz! Until today, I was lamenting that I couldn't do IM because I'm not on T-mobile. I hooked it up, and I was IMing in less than 2 minutes, no muss, no fuss. There are a couple of cosmetic hang-ups, such as switching between the application menu and the games menu, but it worked perfectly on the first try!

Hi... just some comments on the IM+ replies:
- Perhaps Proximus uses a WAP only APN (just port 9201-9204 open, instead of full internet). Try using another APN (if possible, on a V-live T610, the first CID is locked and the IM+ uses the 1st CID... nothing to do about that)
- I also had some download problems at first. This was probably because I had a old firmware, because after I upgraded the firmware, it worked like a breeze... recommend upgrading firmware!
Just found another IM program called UMSG 2.0 It's commercial, but it works also... check http://www.uppli.com on the normal web-browser or go to URL http://www.uppli.com/umsg with your T610.
Grtz,
Martijn
PS: Please make sure it works before buying the software... you'll need a full internet APN to use this software! (Vodafone NL customers have no problem, the Dutch v-live APN is full internet!)

I made it work! :) Although I had 170 SEK on my phone yesterdaty and only 100 left today :S But i only used MSN for 5 mins today... must be all the other stuff i downloaded :P a lot of free ringtones and walls :)

Not sure if this matters, but I'm on Cingular (US), and it's definitely full-internet GPRS. One nice thing about Cingular, though. They never lock phones. All the coding is in the SIM card.

I'm rather sketchy about upgrading the firmware (R1A054, only one week old) because my phone is a T616. Does anyone know the technical differences between the two phones?

Nice, but only MSN? I liked IM+ because it supports just about all IM protocols, including AIM, which, like it or not, almost all my friends use.

What is wrong with my phone? I can't get neither of the three programs to work... They all freeze when trying to contact the gateway.
Is my configuration wrong? (I'm using GPRS from TDC in Denmark)

Okay the cmessenger signup link thats in this thread hasn't worked for days. I've used several different browsers but it always times out on me. I can't even access the main site. I would like to use this app but it seems like their site or company is having some probs. Does anybody know of an alternate signup link or some other way to use cmessenger?

Okay guys once you're signed up on the cleverlance website you must make sure to add whichever service you want to use while you're at the site. Add aim or yahoo or whatever and type your aim sn and password into there. You do not enter your aim name and pass in the actual program. You enter the name and pass you made up for the cmessenger sign up in the program. And make sure to not be logged into the cmessenger site when you are trying to use your phone messenger. Yes it's complicated but the app is great. Contact me if you have any questions. the_gunslinger@comcast.net

Cmessenger is working fine on a T616 in Canada on Microcell (Fido) using my MSN contact list
It's asking for a registraion license? Is that correct, or did I install it wrong?

Ok then. To those people having problems connecting the problem is you are trying to use a WAP APN. Change your WAP settings to your Web settings and vice versa. Also, make sure you check safe mode in settings as I had Cmessenger crash my phone.

I have been struggling :( for a while trying various IM clients but failing to connect with all of them.
I have a WAP profile for Vodafone live and an internet data account for the inbuilt email client.
Please can someone detail how to configure the T610 to enable these IM clients to connect using internet and not WAP
many thanks

As I said in another post, swap the settings between the WAP settings and the Mobile web settings. You can rename them to avoid confusion if you like afterwards. This makes the mobile web settings take priority over the WAP connection and enables cmessenger to function correctly. Be warned of the cost of GPRS though as Cmessenger likes to use a lot of GPRS so if on contract be prepared for a big phone bill.

hey tHatDudeUK
Don't suppose you could 'walk' me through how to do it as i have changed my Vlive APN to internet, changed username/pass etc. now Live does not work and IM still does not
tHatDudeUK
11-10-2003, 01:53 PM
Ok, Why do these things have to be so complicated :-S lol.
Anyway.
Hopefully you now have switched the two settings and possibly renamed them appropriately. Now your WAP settings should have CID=2 and your internet CID=1. Java will use the CID=1 connection to connect.
Make sure you have selected the appropriate connection for WAP in Wap options - > Wap profiles.
I'd try using the configurator at www.sonyericsson.com/uk and send the appropriate settings and when asked replace the appropriate ones and see if that helps.
It's a shame you can't just edit the CID number rather than have to fiddle with the settings.
Hope this helps....

thanks for your help
I got to the same point by deleting all data accounts except internet and MMS. So internet has CID=1 and MMS CID=2
