Hallo,

I just bought a T610 and i am very pleased with it. But....

I cannot get the outgoing email to work. I do receive incomming emails.

I created a account of my own through the email option menu of the phone itself (so not the email accessable through the website of my telephone provider). I checked and double checked the incomming/outgoing server, in/out port and username, password. As stated i do receive incomming emails but i cannot sent emails. It does find the server but on sending the email it stops and says failure sending email.

Anybody suggestion on what could be wrong?

Thanx in advance for any help!

You cannot use your third-party email provider's outgoing server to send mail because your mobile provider has their own.

In order to send email, you must input the correct outgoing server in your phone.

For example, my email provider here in the Philippines is Infocom but ny mobile phone provider is Globe Telecom. Using this example, I set up my email as follows:

Incoming server is set at pop.info.com.ph while outgoing server is set at smtp.globenet.com.ph. You see what I mean ?

Input your incoming server according to the specifications of you email provider. For outgoing, however, ask your service provider what their SMTP server is.

Hope this helps. Cheers !!!

Some SMTP (outgoing server) have user autentication, i.e., you must enter your user ID and password in order to send your email through that SMTP server; usually the same as user ID and Pass as POP3 server (incomming).

If it's your case, you will never be able to send emails using this SMTP server from your T610 (our T610 doesn't have it), you would have to use other SMTP server which doesn't requiere auntentication and you are able to use it without any special permissions.

bye.
