Hi all,

I'm a bit confused on this as I've read on sites that the K800i has Flash Lite on it but Sony Ericsson's site doesn't mention it neither does the Flash Lite website...

Can someone fill me in on this?

I'm exploring the capabilities of my new phone. I'm looking forward to Rok TV which streams TV stations such as CNN and Cartoon Network to your mobile for about 99p each station per month...

I've been told by the people at Rok TV though that the K800 is UIQ 3.0 which isn't yet supported (my D750 was)

Is UIQ 3.0 a Symbian OS? In which case can it use .sis files?

Please advise...I'm really intrigued on all this...

Cheers

@marty

The Sony Ericsson K800i is not a Symbian based phone, it doesn't run the UIQ operating system. Your new K800i will support streaming transport over RTSP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_Streaming_Protocol) the video codecs supported are:

Video
(including audio part)
MP4 (video: MPEG4, audio: AAC or AMR)
3GPP™ (video: MPEG4 or H.263, H.264, audio:
AAC or AMR)
Real Video 8
WMV
.mp4
.3gp
.rv, .rm
wmv
Streaming transport RTSP according to 3GPP™
Video encoding H.263 Profile 0, Level 10
Video decoding MPEG-4 Simple Visual Profile Level 0
H.263 Profile 0, Level 10
H.264 Baseline Profile (Main subset), Level 1b
Real Video

Cheers guys. I've already got the torch app by the way. The flash i was referring to was the internet plug-in. Would it not be possible to view any flash websites on a k800 then? I read about that, how flash based sites can limit their accessibility by wap users. You can see frames and animated gifs fine, is flash a possibility at all on a k800? I purpose a limitation might be downloading the file to play it as on www.youtube.com.
