Headset ringing

I just got a new T610 to replace my Nokia 8290 (piece of SH@#!!) and I love it so far :) The only problem I've found is in using the headset. With the headset plugged into the phone, the phone only rings through the headset and not the external speaker. I can't seem to find anything to change this. Am I missing something?

Make sure phone is not on silent, and the profile settings are correct with ring volume and etc.
