see the attached image it shows you how (bottom of this post)
(note:- mac users scroll to bottom of page for alternate guide)
IMPORTANT NOTE:- I DID NOT WRITE THIS GUIDE so PLEASE don't PM me for help and ADVICE... I just brought this guide here... PLEASE ASK at the end of this thread ANY technical questions and NOT VIA P.M. thats what this thread and forums for ..thank you!!!
original article here (internet archived copy!) (http://web.archive.org/web/20070323014429/http://users.skynet.be/yozy/tutorials/se/k750/k750-1.htm) so credits goto the original creator who we now know as speedy-andre THANKS MATE :)
note visit the site above to get the links for the SE SDK and the Java Development Kit RUNTIME enviroment.
i just brought it here and YES IT WORKS great and better with **OPERA WIDESCREEN** version for k750i/w800i .. other versions should work fine ...
**google for it its out there **
note this is for sony ericsson mobiles only as it uses the SE SDK
untested on anything other than a k750i and w800i so may not work on x6xx series but its worth a try
can admin make this sticky :)
thanks :)
FINALLY please POST YOUR RESULTS in this thread if it worked for you or not and your SE mobile and connection type used such as BLUETOOTH,IrDA or USB thanks :)
EDIT ....
mirror for the jdk JDK MIRROR (http://tinyurl.com/35x3bz) :)
mirror for the SDK SDK MIRROR (http://tinyurl.com/25bqxs)
missing files from the post above as lots are askin but not finding them within this thread ...
thanks speedyandre for re-adding them ..
(for those who still dont get it .... click the links in the quote below for the missing files.. they are working and checked regular) :)
>> ***************************************
On another forum I found out that that minibrowser.lnk and list.bat need to be changed when the newest SE SDK 2.2.4 has been installed :o
This SDK is installed on a slightly different path, but it's enough to let the old files tell you they can't find the path
When you've installed an older SE SDK the old files still work fine ;)
The new links are here:
Minibrowser.lnk (http://home.versatel.nl/speedy-andre/minibrowser.lnk)
List.bat (http://home.versatel.nl/speedy-andre/list.bat)
List1.bat (http://home.versatel.nl/speedy-andre/list1.bat)
I'm afraid that I have to ask Kobrakaan one more time to change his start post, so please add the 3 files and my comments :)
All the HID stuff also works with other java applets, like some messenger applets if they are not limited to use gprs only.
With my desktop HID you can start 2 applets from your phone, if you want to start more applets you can make your own HID for your phone.

additional notes for slow internet connection users for the SDK only ..
SDK split for problematic downloaders or slow net connections ....its in 8 parts!
notes:
I have split it over 8 files of approx 9.6mb each ..
NOTE: you will need ALL 8 PARTS and either WINRAR or 7zip to unpack starting with file
semc_java_me_cldc_sdk_2_2_4.part1 this will re assemble the whole file 74mb!
DO NOT unrar each individiual file it must be started with part one this will assemble all 8 parts into one single file called
semc_java_me_cldc_sdk_2_2_4.zip
once unpacked to the above single file you will need to unzip it to finally install it :)
here are the 8 SPLIT files for download...
part 1 (http://rapidshare.com/files/1585632/semc_java_me_cldc_sdk_2_2_4.part1.rar)
part 2 (http://rapidshare.com/files/1585633/semc_java_me_cldc_sdk_2_2_4.part2.rar)

lol but can u BROWSE WAP sites with no hassle with the computer !? this is the main use of using broadband and your mobile and its FREE instead of using your normal wap/gprs connection that COSTS :)
that and the COOL FACTOR! that it can be done :)
you can use it for browsing anywhere on your mobile and anywere your bluetooth reaches including the garden and anywhere else in the house etc :)
@joselus not sure about your k300 does it use bluetooth ... not upto speed on tech specs of lower models of SE anymore :(
@P.B. should work just fine for you mate u have a K750i :D
just need to find a working ICQ for mobile now i cant seem to get any of them out there so far to connect :(

click the link in the 1st page of this thread where the original artical is posted then .. where it says You also need the Java Development Kit click the part that says Java Development Kit
this should take you to a page on the SUN JAVA website
it says
Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Beta
For easier, more reliable downloads, try Sun Download Manager.
put a checkmark in ACCEPT agreement and then scroll down to where it says
Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language jdk-6-beta-windows-i586.exe 49.49 MB
click on Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language and this will start the download of the development kit :)

you dont need the list.bat but you do need the opera mini browser :)
for bluetooth ports look in your bluetooth connection settings in the task bar and find the bluetooth serial port you connect to when using your bluetooth as normal or when you first set up the connection its usually set to #3 or #4 or #7 initially :)
look in your bluetooth explorer (my bluetooth places) and see how many serial connections are in there :)
one should be the bluetooth name of your mobile :)
if you right click it it will tell you which port you are using for your phone :)
you can also discover it under ADVANCED CONFIGURATION under the client applications tab :)

Hi guys! :)
It's fun to find my internet via broadband manual translated here : wrshp :
This is working since over 8 months now and finally it appears here :p
Who did do the translation to English and was it difficult?
Someone from Belgium I suppose, because it's hosted there
The list.bat was made to be able to start any java applet remote with an icon on the desktop, on the SE developpers forum I found out how this works.
With my K750i (oldest firmware) the internetconnection fails after 10 minutes when HID is active, so I stop HID when Opera is running and then it stays connected for ever.
I also tried all this on my T630 with the newest (small) Opera, but it can't make a serial network connection like the T610 can :(
So I think that the bluetooth stack is a little bit different

No problem, it's fun to see it happen here also ;)
One moment ago I also saw a very big manual on a German forum where very much internet profile things where changed on the phone, while you only need to install Opera-mini
So I showed them in my most worse German language that they don't need to do this at all :)
Did you try another Russian Opera-mini which can download files and choose wide or normal screen?
I've got one : wrshp :

Hi kobrakaan, tanx for d responce...:) i must b dense or sumthing...:( but i dont think wat u recommend to me will work...: dnt know
This is wat i hav:
- Dell Inspiron 8600 Centrino 1.5 MHz installed 1.28GB ram
- Microsoft WinXP Pro version 2002 w/ Serv Pack 2
- Bluetooth Dongle using BlueSoleil version 1.6.1
- Infrared USB connection
- Broadband Connection thru secured WiFi LAN at 24.0 Mbps
i use the IVT Corporation BlueSoleil drivers and Explorer to connect to my k750i... i tried using windows device manager but wen i try the Sony DeviceExplorer, i still get the same error... regarding hanging connection and closing the connection. How do u think i shud go about it... D reason y i didnt use the Windows (Bluetooth Devices) to install the Bluetooth driver is because it makes my bluetooth dongle function incorrectly and it is harder to use too. Any tips on how i can make WAP at broadband work... Many Tanx ;)
this is the picture of my BlueSoleil Quick connect... i assign some of the Bluetooth devices...

You need to get the properties of the shortcut desktop.lnk, you can change the numbers on the 'target' line.
Don't delete the s at the end of this line, it's needed for the serial network connection.

No, the story is that you want to use a broadband connection instead of gprs when you're at home.
But Opera-mini can work with gprs too, if you're prepared to pay the costs.
Opera-mini is a browser for normal internet pages, the internet-feed is compressed by Opera to minimize data use and costs.

speedyandre ... Props to you!!! Great JOB!!
speedyandre
03-30-2006, 04:26 PM
Thanks.
I use it for other applets too, Worldcam for instance.
Worldcam lets your mobile connect to webcams anywhere and get snapshots of what's going on at the time ;)
For each applet you can place a shortcut on your desktop, the only problem is that you can't start them all from your phone with HID because your phone has to few shortcuts on its keyboard.
If you make your own HID profile, then you can customize it to be able to start more then 2 applets from your desktop.
With the desktop HID you can use * and 0 to start applets.

Can you tell what bluetooth dongle and software you use and the firmware of your phone? (shows up when you do >*<<*<* and then choose service menu.
(< and > is move joystick left or right, * is * on keypad).
Also FMA software tells you what firmware you use.
The cost is according to gprs use, when Opera starts and it can't connect to bluetooth, then it maybe will try to connect with gprs.
When it connects with gprs you can see a small globe above and if you make Opera small you can see a globe on the phone's desktop.

No matter how you connect the phone to your pc, you can setup a serial connection and use it to start the opera-mini browser from your pc.
You only need to find out what comport each connection has.
Bluetooth is the most obvious one, I've got a class 1 dongle because it will connect within 10 metres, a class 2 dongle is limited to about 6 metres.
