Thanks, can we get it on the developers website?
The device explorer is included with the proxy manager, so it works the same way as it does now.

Hi,guys.If someone tryes to make it work on a SE K300i then mark my words: IT WORKS almoust magicaly with a connection to an USB cable(I didn't tryed with an IR device).I have to admit that I had some doubts in the first place 'cause it didn't wanted to connect,but following Andre's guide step-by-step and by changing on my phone the settings in "Data accounts" and "Internet profiles" I can surf the net with Opera Mini.

P.S.:Andre, thanks for opening a new horizon.

I tried this with IRDA and Bluetooth and both worked for me, although it is a little difficult with IRDA as you have to have the phone pointed directly at the IR adapter!!!!!

Blue tooth works liek a dream tho, couldnt do with out my 'free' internet on my phone now!

I use W550 with an USB connection.I followed all the steps as specified.Connection Proxy is able to recogonize my phone..Connections are all intact, able to see the programs that are installed, able to start the applications from my PC, However Opera reports error (something similar to what foo25 (http://myforum.lasyk.net/showthread.php?t=23875&page=5) had reported, News readers reports "Unable to establish connection".Serial networking is enabled, I even tried disabling my firewall...
Do I need to create a Internet proifile in my phone as some user have mentioned.But I don't think serial proxy wud require such settings.can anyone pls help me out wth this problem? I will try again when i get back home.. Thanks in advance.

@speedyandre

The build you have tested is ready for release, note that we are working on the distribution version (should be under 10mb) so once this problem is resolved the SEPM should go live.

@netcraze

In the connection manager -> connection settings you have the option of selecting com1, com2, .... com11, com12, com13 etc.

Try connecting with the other ports e.g Com12 if you tested Com11.

So, approximately when can we expect the release and where it will be posted the link to the SEPM?

Thanks! ;)

yes will be free no charge it uses either your bluetooth/ Irda/usb cable to connect your computers internet connection to your mobile so you use your net connection instead of the the costly wap to surf the internet with your mobile :)

its best with bluetooth then at least you dont have to be close to the computer to use it :)

follow the guide and it should be fine :)

@netcraze

Make sure you try all the com ports that can connect, I had the same problem when connecting via usb.

Also, remember that Opera Mini must be launched from the Device Explorer. So if you are trying another com port, you should first close Opera Mini, and start it again from the device explorer.

Sometimes a custom internet profile with your pc's IP will do the job, the phone then can find its way to the internet, someone with a K300 managed to get it working using a usbcable.
Without internet profile it didn't work but Opera mini could be started getting the same message as you did.
Changing serial ports doesn't solve this problem in my opinion ;)

I agree with Kobrakaan and you can also check that you don't see the little globe on your phone desktop, if it's there then you're connected with gprs or gsm.
To make sure this doesn't happen you can make a custom internet profile and select it.

The Com Port issue affects users using the DCU-60 USB cable connection, and this because the drivers installed may also setup the WMC OBEX interface (Com 12), and WMC Device Management (Com 13). Although you can connect to the device on the device management port e.g Com port 13, the connection will be lost and you will get the error in Opera Mini. While on Com port 10,11 the connection will work fine.

I think that com ports are assigned diffently on different pc's depending on com ports being in use when plugging in the dcu-60 cable.
On my own (fully packed) pc com3 gets a wmc data modem, com4 gets a wmc modem, usb wmc device management is on com7, usb wmc obex interfaxe is on com5 and the Toshiba bluetooth driver assigns com ports 6, 7, 10-14, 20, 21 and 40-43 : omg :

Yes,
On every computer the Com Ports are assigned according to availability. To avoid confusion this is why I wrote "Make sure you try all the com ports that can connect"

- On your setup you will notice that although Com 7 will connect to your phone, it disconnects when you try to view a page in Opera Mini. This is what I think netcraze's error is: dnt know

Edit it getting the properties of the minibrowser.lnk on your desktop and select the Shortcut tab.
Here you can change the 'target' line.

Hi everyone,

I've done first, second and third step from that tutorial and I can't connect to my phone via bluetooth.

In device manager Bluetooth communication ports are numbered from 9 to 13. I tried to connect to every of them and... nothing.

Whats wrong with this? Maybe I have to set something in my phone?

hope you'll help me :)

Turn Bluetooth on!!!!!! :p

Just kidding, depending on your Bluetooth drivers/software you may need to start a Bluetooth serial port service before starting the proxy or set it up to connect automatically when windows accesses the com port. : dnt know
Or Windows firewall could be blocking the ports, If i remember correctly the first time i did this the Firewall poped up and asked if i wanted to allow the port numbers or continue blocking(or something like that). : dnt know

@webmaster@lasyk.net
Any idea when SEPM will be released? :cool:

What java applications are you guys using with this? : dnt know
So far i have used OperaMini and Nav4all(just to see what the maps are like! its not much use stuck <100M from my PC!! :p )

Can you tell which brand the bluetooth drivers are?
The driver can search for devices and profiles a device has, like a headset or a serial port.
First choose a low connection speed in SE connection proxy like 230400bps.
Then try to make a serial connection with each BT serial port using the bluetooth settings (or wizard).
When the serial connection is up and running the SE proxy will be able to connect to your phone.
Just choose the same com (serial) port as the serial connection in SE connection proxy.
