A very big thanks from my SE K810i, who is connected by a USB-cable to my PC (XP home sp2) at this moment. At first i tried Opera 4 and could connect to internet and reach every site, but after selecting a link at that site my phone stopped/freezes. After that experience i installed Opera 2, and now i can surf the whole WWW.

Once again: A very big, thank you very much from the Netherlands to André & Kobrakaan:thumbup:, and everyone else in this topic (I heave learned a lot from the problems of others);)

wao thats great.
Thanks buddy, speedyandre and kobrakaan.

I got my k810i connected to PC using USB and running.
It was connected previously, Opera was also being run using Device Explorer but Internet was not being connected.
Then on changing the Port, it worked and working fine.

Thanks again guys.

when i try to install opera mini it wants to connect to the internet, but i have no credit to do so, and thus wont install so i can do this......

Any way to install without having to connect to Net? ( i do start it from the "sony ericsson device explorer")

Is your PC connected to internet?
Asking this because if your PC is connected with Internet and you have shared your network i.e. allowed other devices to use your PCs internet, then on running the Opera mini using Device Explorer from your PC, Opera mini will automatically connect to the Internet using you PC Internet connection.

works fine with z530i

my previous probs come from me not ticking "serial networking"

so should work with all z530 phones

.....more problems with my z530i....

I was able to install and load it, then load one page.
but after that, it just says "connecting" forever.
Know idea whats wrong, but the connection proxy says theres no data coming or going. (and it was when it loaded that 1st page.)

anyone have a solution, really want to use this for radio and IM.

Nah, I've done all that. I connected it but the pic of my phone never comes up even though it says on the bottom that it's connected. Also when we click start opera mini on the explorer, what after that? I saw that it opens up on my phone but it dosent connect.

I'm a bit new and clueless. I've read everything, but I have questions before I do this:

What is the meaning of this function? Will my w610 be enabled to use free internet from my Broadband?

Do I need a bluetooth PC?

FINALLY got it working after weeks of frustration!! Some points others who are struggling may find useful (assuming you have a working connection in connection proxy)...
:se USE OPERA 2 - no other version works. You'll find a link in Kobrakaan's sig
:se Reduce baud rate down in Connection proxy. I started at 57600 to get started then bumped it up step-by-step later. The slower speed has no effect on your browsing experience ;)
:se I deleted all Internet/data/etc profiles off my phone (I don't EVER want to browse the net with my phone so bad that I'm gonna pay that much) then I created a new data account called "Bluetooth" with my 'puters' IP addy and directed internet and Java settings to use that account.

So I concur with Kobrakaan - all you need is here in this thread - and don't be afraid to restart your phone and SE Device Explorer before concluding those changes are not helping....

I got this working but after a few minutes of browsing, my proxy connection hangs up. I'm getting this error: "Device explorer detected a hanging connection proxy and closed it. Restart by refreshing device information." I tried setting the baud rate to the lowest setting or highest setting, still getting this error. Another thing I noticed, after reloading the device explorer and running the opera app, I'm no longer able to browse. I need to restart my phone everytime I try to reconnect. Is this normal? What can I do about the hanging proxy connection?

What I'm using:
OS: windows xp pro sp2
Phone: W810i
Bluetooth: BlueSoleil (I could not get widcomm/broadcom to detect my bluetooth dongle.

Everything else I got from this post.

Sometimes Rapidshare give away accounts free, but this is rare and the chance of you getting one is about 0.

You can't get rid of the waiting time. :(

A proxy might work as long as you aren't on LAN or WLAN. Expect slow downloads though! :(

The thing is, it's not very useful to browse internet on your phone when you are right next to a computer ;) so I'll probably get a dongle, they are quite cheap.

*EDIT* Can the USB Cable be used for Bluetooth as well? If it can, I'm not sure how to get My Bluetooth Places and the other stuff.

when using usb cable you can skip the bluetooth places and stuufzz

I've read the whole thread *sigh* and I still can't find the solution to my problem. I haven't tried deleting all my apps and games yet nor have I tried deleting all data accounts and internet profiles. Maybe I should try this because currently I get the message where it says Error - go to opera help for more info.

joost206
01-24-2008, 10:20 PM
how did you connected?

steadyontherem8
01-25-2008, 02:32 PM
I followed the guide using Connection Proxy and I can get my K800i connected with it (through usb cable in phone mode) but it is still not working. And when I try to install and application it gives an error: "Error in proxy communication. Please try to disconnect and connect the connection proxy or restart the phone."

I have already installed Opera Mini on my phone by using transfer mode so have deleted it. I still cannot transfer my opera mini jad and jar on to it using the method.

I have put the minibrowser on my computer desktop and it starts opera on the mobile but when I try to search for Bluetooth devices, it can't find my computer. This is because of no Bluetooth dongle isn't it?
