@chaoscreate

If Opera Mini is started with the device explorer and you see this screen -> http://users.skynet.be/yozy/tutorials/images/se/k750-1/connected.jpg

Opera Mini will use your computers internet connection.

You need to allow the Java application to connect to the Internet. To be sure you are not using your GPRS account you can delete the data account to avoid any charges.

Try installing another application that requires a internet connection.

I think 'chaos create' is the perfect nick :D
First you have a problem, then it all works fine and then it doesn't and so on ;(
Sometimes it helps if you use a dummy data account on your phone and put your pc's IP in it, all other fields in the account keep unchanged.

I am also able to launch opera mini from device explorer, and asks to connect to the internet, and i continue but it fails. I also tried quickim and got an error 43 message. I don't know what else to do. This has been a project of mine to get this working but I haven't had any success yet.

my problem is, my fone would hang up in opera's network setup, test 2.
i would regain activity if i closed my desktop connection.

anybody in the forum can help me out?

another thing.. i cant seem to find any right post about the right settings i need to change in my fone's internet profile and what exactly i should put in it. can anyone bring it up?

Ok, I've been trying to get this up and running but I'm still unsuccessful. I'm at the point where I have opera launching from device explorer but it fails to connect to the internet. It says check java settings or contact service provider. I read somewhere that you can change your internet profile, but when I checked the java settings, internet settings, and streaming settings the only accounts I have a choice between are GSM and GPRS. Can someone go into more detail regarding the changing of the internet profile?

I'm using a SE W810i and I have opera mini the latest version from SE website.

I have also modified the numbers for the minibrowser.lnk file on my desktop.

I have the same situation. I am using w810i and I connect the phone to the computer via USB cable.

Any kind of help would be appreciated. :(

No i have the latest opera mini 3.1 when i download a file it access my default gprs settings and downloads from it..Also before downloading opera shows that the browser has to be closed before downloading the file....what should i do?

Pedrops
07-25-2007, 08:48 AM
@cecildaniel2003

It happens because when you start the download, it closes Opera and start the built in browser to get the file. And when you do that, it access your GPRS [if any]

Same thing happened here when trying to download opera mini 4.

So it won't work unless you're accessing you're broadband trhu PAN.
Than when it closes opera to get the download with the built in browser, it will work normaly, using you're broadband

It does you just have to connect and disconnect the sdk a few times and then launch the beta 4 :)

If that does not work connect to your mobile using quick connect file transfer and then disconnect it then retry the sdk and load opera 4 from the sdk :)

but I found it REALLY REALLY SLOW going :(

click the link above, it redirects you to the download page

YET AN OTHER POSSIBLE MEAN TO GET CONNECTION IN YOUR PHONE VIA BROADBAND (WITH A WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software Stack)

The advantage here is that all built-in Internet services can be used (blogging, mailing, Track ID ...) and there is no need to install the SE / SUN SDK

this works in my w850 so I guess the setting will be the same for other SE models.

check here (http://myforum.lasyk.net/showpost.php?p=314482&postcount=20)for the Step by step

Hi,

Ok I've got the SE explorer to connect (serial networking enabled), I've got Opera Mini installed on my phone, and I've got the 'remote control minibrowser.lnk' thing to work.

When pressing * then, it gets to opera, opera does its test, then fails.

My phone is w810i & opera is version 3.1. Help me sort this please!

Hi, i'm still a little stuck getting this to work on my k750i (if it even does). I've got my pc and the phone talking via the serial cable, and the SE device mgr can launch opera mini, but I either get charged for the data transfer (probably because i'm using the operator's gprs) or no connection at all.

I'm guessing it's the settings in the phone that are a little messed up; i've been looking around and the only config info seems to be for the t616 or similar.

Could anyone who knows and/or has done this on the k750(i) please go over the data account and internet settings config please.

Thanks for any help guys..

Hey man!

I didn't got you... are you trying to use cable or bluetooth?

Cause with bluetooth you don't need the Device Explorer... acctually you don't need anything from this tutorial...

check here

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=124714&start=150

if you have a bluetooth dongle you can make it access your adsl or whatever thru PAN

You don't even have to be close to the pc....

its far better than this, with device explorer.

All you'll need is
- BT dongle
- Widcomm stack [5.1.0.1100 or lower]
- A cellphone that have PAN [like k800 or w850]
