I have a Sony K700 mobile and I have followed all the steps that were given in the tutorial. I downloaded opera mini and the Java SDK and I installed Opera Mini in my phone. But when I start it from the SDK, it starts in the phone and then it says that it is checking the network connection but hangs when it the progress bar is at 50 %. I tried around 10 times and every time it just hangs when the progress bar reaches 50 %. Does any one know how to solve this?

ok. finaly i succed to fin the com port on my phone after reinstaling the windows. but now is another problem.i am on step 4 and i can't figure if i can connect my phone to my computer with a serial cable or with only with bluetooth?

I get almost the same messege as Sudar... But my Opera runs the full 100%, than it's says that no Internet network is found...

Everything else is working, Device Explorer see's my Mobile and I can transfer and start app. to/on my phone. So what's wrong ? I think I've got an wrong IP or so, because the IP I get from sites are diffrent than the IP's I get with

Start -> run -> cmd -> ipconfig

So please somebody with an K750i help me with the right settings...

I did exactly what the Tut from Speedy-Andre on an Dutch site says...

But I can't find a good Dutch help-threat, and with Google I found this site... so thats why I'm askin' here ^^

From ip tests on websites you get your external ip. I think you need to use your local ip. The one you get from Start -> run -> cmd -> ipconfig.

Thnx Ivarbug... I was thinking the same, I'm Internetting with an WLAN so the Router gives me an IP for Inet...

I'll give it a try, you will hear from me if it's working yes ot no..

Hey dunno whats wrong but it works only ~30% of the times when i run opera and only when its just reinstalled. Everything else works good. So if you know any other good browsers feel free to post about them here ;)

@ vladutz9: You don't need that remote stuff to connect, it's an xtra option, so you can start Browsing direct from you're mobile.... Otherwise you need to start te App. that you want from Device Explorer ;)

@ Ivarbug: Here now working all the time.... where's you're IP in phone... According earlyer Post you have that in "Internet Profile" I did'nt, I have Proxy Off. Only Point too you're Data Account.

Try set it by you're Data Account.... There is an IP option too ;) I've set it from there..

I even don't need to restart my phone or ConnectionProxy to restart the Browser again...

And for other readers you should take the Opera 2.0 Browser !

All my settings where right, but with the "new" Opera mini 3.0 it failed the Internet Connection Test over and over again... :(

nothing... internet is still invisible.
opera works on emulators and with my original gprs provider on my phone too.
could you post me some working examples. logs, phone configs and something from netstat so i can compare?

and here are my phone settings:

and internet profile:
Connect using:data account above <--------- Right !
Use proxy:yes <--------------- No !
Proxy address:192.168.1.2 <--------------- Emty !
Port number:8080
Username:
Password:

In this qoute I have set my working settings.....

And Java settings works the same as Internet Profile:

New ----> Name (Internet or so) ----- > Connect (with the Data Account)

In Java I have nothing else set... Just let it connect with you're Data Account...

yes, I installed opera from the device explorer and ran it too from there. As I said everything works except internet. I even got the remote management working on the first try. : omg :

I think the ip in data accound should be phone's ip or something not computer's ip. And when its emty, its dynamic. Just a guess though.

Damn, why nokia settings make much more sense than Sony Ericsson's? You can specify multiple dns servers, gateways, set your static ip and everything else that normal people do. Ericsson - nothing :lol: . I think I'm going to start hacking my os soon. :mad:

Yes, it works with Opera mini 2.0 and 3.0 :)
I've a non-branded K800 and Toshiba BT2.0 drivers on my pc.
No changes on data accounts or other things because I also use internet using 3G :D

i tried this and ended up with a brick for a fone....no big deal really because it was only 9 dayz old and im being sent a replacement it should arrive any minute now.

basically what happened is i launched opera on the fone from the pc using the se sdk or woteva it woz the fone locked up while testing for a connection in opera. i left it for about 10mins 2 c if it wud fix up n it didnt so i turned the fone off and it wudnt turn bak on all i get is the top light blinking red 6 times.......weird. i tried takin the battery out for about 10mins n puttin it bak in but stil not working. just thought i should share this with everyone. also i dont know if its the actual fone at fault or whether its sumtin i did in this guide.

lol nah i dont think i will, what i think happened is the phone was low on battery opera froze it up, where it would usually turn itself off bcoz of low battery it couldnt....why i couldnt charge it though i have no idea. maybe battery stuffed up? lol

I would call that bad luck and nothing at all to do with any application what so ever its more of a technical hardware failure and nothin to do with software as the software cannot directly access the rom to do any damage :)

I have K750 and i have read all the replies and done everything but i couldnt connect to the internet. Try opera v3, 2 ,1.x , Try with/out data/internet profiles with/out IP, proxy ect...
May be problem is in SE proxy software... when i try to install opera(many versions) from DeviceExplorer there is a:
"Error in proxy comunication please try to disconnect and connect the connection proxy again or restart the phone"
After this Conection proxy crash and i cann't use DeviceExplorer before reset phone...
If i install opera from phone , can start opera from DeviceExplorer no there isn't internet....

p.s. there is a same problem via bluetooth... phone is CID49...

THe problem is with the applications that are already installed on your mobile. Remove all the java applications and games and try.. This will surely work!! I have been suffering to this problem and finally found the solution.

i've removed allmost all the games and applications, but it still doesn't want to connect.

I thought that the java games and applications are the culprits. I have spent nearly a complete day for the solution. A line in the error log says Unable to parse the input recieved by the phone. Hence i deleted all the games except that were inbuilt. the next minute.. i was able to connect..

But, Are you able to see the applications in the device explorer? If so, the case might be a different one.. I am getting nice responses in sony ericsson support community forum. Better search your queries in that. Hope you will find the right solution.

I tried to do the connection on my SE w810i and everything works but the problem is that it works only for a minute or so. After it disconnectes me. Below is a log from my Connection proxy but I have no clue what does it mean or what I should do in order to get the connection working. I tried to reinstal everything a few times, now I'm using opera 2.0. Any help?

Can anyone post a link for Opera 2.0? I have rigorously searched the internet for a copy and every download link points to opera's site which only has 3.0. This would be very much appreciated!

I'm using bluetooth (BlueSoleil 1.6.1.4). I have original internet settings from my provider (Rogers Canada). Since the guide didn't mention anything (at least I think) about changing internet connection I didn't touch it.

Data account:

Rogers Internet:
- APN = internet.com
- username =
- password =
- login request = off
- allow calls = automatic
- IP address = ...
- DNS address = ...
- authentication = PAP
- data compresion = off
- header compresion = off

Internet settings:
- connect using = Rogers Internet
- use proxy = no

The connection works after I restart computer and the phone but it works only for a minute or so. I tried to uninstal and instal again all the software but it didn't help.
