Hi!

I've got a datacable, COM port, and I want to transfer the images from my mobile to the PC. Is this impossible? I've looked all over the net, but nobody seems to know the answer.

Anyone? :?:

If you read, you see that I need to know how to do it by CABLE! :) NOT IrDa or Bluetooth!

That's how it works:

Connect your mobile to your PC e.g. by IrDa

View the picture you want to transmit on the handy display. Press "more" on your mobile und choose "send" and "via IrDa". Confirm on your desktop screen to recieve the file and get it saved directly on your desktop (WinXP).

Not a very compfortable solution for a great number of files, but it will do its job. Tell me if you find an alternative.

Greetings.... "Q"

Helloooo?
I'm asking you how to do this by CABLE, and I get two replies, BOTH talking about IrDa and Bluetooth!

Are you saying this can't be done with a COM port cable?

I'm not aware of any software that will allow the phones file structure to be accessed via cable.

I would however recommend you ditch the cable and purchase a USB Bluetooth Dongle, they are quite cheap and work well. Can also set the PC up as a file server. Works well through walls and throughout the whole house.

However, If I happen to find any software that works with a cable, I will send a post to the Connectivity forum.

If you go visit the SE forum, you can find your answer...

But long story short, there is no way to send anything from phone to pc using a data cable. No program supports it because the phone doesnt support it. I suggest you buy a bluetooth dongle, or a IR adapter...there's a free IR adapter that i posted in the connectivity thread

Prontoman AP is 110% correct. You cannot transfer from mobile to PC using a cable. This question has been asked millions of times in many other SE discussion groups and I have yet to see anyone figure this out.

I think it has to do with the design of the phone. My opinion only: I think it has to do with security issues. Remember that software upgrading is done ONLY via cable, right ? So this means that the "highly sensitive" and "secret" stuff is located in the part of the phone that the cable can access. This, I believe is the reason because if we were able to transfer from mobile to PC via cable, then someday, a smart hacker will be able to download this sensitive data into his/her PC and hack into the firmware.

What do you think ?

the phone is not capable of transfering frm the mobile to the pc because there is no firmware to support such thing, guess SE didnt think it would be popular :?

yes for now the best way to transfer stuff to your T630 is via Bluetooth, however as ImanAzlan stated if you already have IR on your PC that will do :)

@ImanAzlan

did you meant Bluetooth dongle /pod ?
