Can anyone get this to work with a k750i

I keep getting com port busy error in winamp, anyone with a k750i had any luck or is it simply not compatable with the phone? What alternatives are there otherthan HID

I had the same thing with MyPhoneExplorer but resolved by uninstalling all my Bluetooth devices (most of which were now redundant) and just reinstalling the new phone. Be sure to check the assigned COM Port via Bluetooth Devices and ensure the settings in your application match.

works fine for me :)

download and install the plugin for winamp

then do the following

Setup

Make sure you have a working serial port connection with your mobile phone. If your bluetooth device uses WIDCOMM drivers, right-click on the bluetooth icon in the tray, select "Quick Connect", "Bluetooth Serial Port" and select your mobile phone. When the connection is established, the drivers will display the communication port the connection uses.

Open the configuration menu of the "Bluetooth Remote Control v0.1" general purpose plugin. Select the communication port the bluetooth drivers use to communicate with the mobile phone and press apply. In a few seconds the status line should read something like: "Ready and connected to SONY ERICSSON".

In your mobile phone, go to the Connectivity submenu and select Accessories and Winamp. You have entered the Winamp remote control.

note you may have to have global hot keys enabled to use this with winamp turn them on in the winamp settings :)


note also this plugin is not needed with the k700i and above series as they have built in hid files that do the same thing :)

note this was tested on k700i and it worked :)

Yeah I'm starting to think its a problem related to the K750i, its already got bluetooth issues as far as HID is concerned in that I've found you can only get it to work if you connect the PC to the phone and not the other way round which is slightly frustrating. I've read about other experiencing the same thing, out of interest is the plugin merely the same as the HID im currently using? I was hoping it was more interactive and allowed me to see my playlist etc on the phone this is the only reason I was trying it rather than using HID.

Ive also tried the Winamp plugin yesterday when i first read this post, i have instaled it sucessfully but when trying to configure the plugin I write COM14 and apply, and then it states the COM port is busy. =S But it shouldn't be, cause I have started a serial connection with Bluetooth and it chose that COM port for me.
However, i can use the serial connection with other software.

note whatever com port you allocated to the serial device/service when you set up your bluetooth connection to your mobile with the bluetooth wizard ... this is the com port you have to specify when using this bluetooth winamp plugin :)

It work flawlessly for me. Mine is on COM port 12. I had trouble finding the right port. I just had to "pair" them again and it worked. BTW, I'm using USB dongle.
