Sorry, not possible.

Your browser only supports connections using your phone's GPRS or IR/BT modem. You cannot "serve" an internet connection from your PC (i.e., via serial) to be used by your phone.

Hey,
In the :SE: K600i they have given broadband mobile internet fascility. :) Check it on the SE website. I dont know any other models.

I think it will be possible by some java application to surf the phone without GPRS.
see you.
good wishes. Ket.

Similarly, the K600i does NOT provide the facility to browse the internet using an external connection from the PC. The K600i is 3G capable (384kbps-UMTS) which means it has a faster data speed.

Likewise, it is unfortunate that no java program is available for this purpose. Java web browsers also utilise the phone's GPRS connection.

The P900/P910 CAN utilise an external internet connection. By using Opera browser, connecting the phone's Bluetooth serial port to the PC with an active internet connection will automatically allow Opera to use the same connection.

Cheers !!!

It connects via GPRS.

By the way, just an update on this thread. It seems that it is now possible to use an external internet connection via BT. Do a SEARCH in myForum and there are new threads that discuss this.

Cheers !!!

I do realise that some of you will not be Vodafone but that is not to say that this wont work but if vodafone have it im sure the others have it aswell.

Take note that you can connect to the internet with any phone that has GPRS and a connection to your pc/laptop.

http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_BOS_MainContent&pageID=GM_0194

I tried this with a Sharp gx30i and a standard bluetooth dongle. i dont need to try it with my K750i because i'd put money on it that if it is done correctly it will work like a charm.

Hope it helps.

UPDATE : It is NOW possible to connect to the internet via your PCs internet connection using Opera Mini in your phone.

Perform a SEARCH (Use Keyword : Opera Mini) here in myForum and find out how this is done.
