K750 Backlight

When I have my phone in normal mode - there is no backlight - ie the background and clock are both black

When I change my phone to silent mode - the backlight stays on - ie the background is white and the clock is black.

I have had a look through the profile settings and everything looks ok.

Does anyone know where the backlight settings are???? : dnt know

have u gone into settings and checked the brightness in the display tab is 100% or to a level thats ok wit u? if not maybe check some of the profiles, have u changed or edited one? if not to these im schtumped cos i dont have this prob , sorry

Yeh - the brightness is the same for both profiles...

Don't know if it makes a difference but I edited the 'In Car' profile for my
silent profile.

maybe i dont know i never really edit the profiles but i cant see why this would alter too much. they is loads of bugs in the earlier phones maybe u got one of those. the model is 05w19 u can find this out on the sticker on your phone where the battery inserts may need some good light to see it but keep lookin its there.

up to u but id think about it, it does seem like all these bugs i.e freezin up and stuff all are related to the 05w19 phone, mines 05w20 and ive had no probs in over a week. if poss id check it before u take it, if they dont let u, insist. who/where u get it from?

im with o2 - last phone was a z600 and i changed that 3 times

so should have no problems changing this (and i'll probably make things up - like the phone keeps freezing etc)

no worries yeah then get it swopped and if they say no tell them tough, if they lie and say **** like hmm we have no probs or hmmm ive heard no probs bout it, SLAP THEM VERY HARD FOR ME, (im on 02) and i went ballistic over my k700i and s700i for the probs i had wit um and they lied to me for them then to say we have to recall them

yup its workin fine, u mean the clock when in screensaver glows more so if you was in a car u can still see the clock rite?

Yeh thats what it does on mine - can you see anyway of turning the light off?

not what i think off, im guessin this isnt a fault they did this for a reason, its so when u are drivin in your car u can place it on the dash in a holder and see with ease, the clock and any missed calls or txt messages symbols without touchin the phone, think bout it !!

On the T610 (should be same as Z600) you can just change to silent mode, without changing profiles. Maybe you could do the same with the K750?

I can see the point of having the backlight but surely I should be able to turn this function on / off

I can go to silent mode by holding down the # key but it would be nice to be able to have the option of the backlight - doesnt the t6** have this option?

im slightly confused ! is it that u are gettin this backlight in the 'in car' profile? cos if its just a matter of silent mode u can turn it off and on in the menu in the normal profile or holdin down the key #. sorry you have really got me confused on this one now !!

The problem is that there doesn't seem to be anyway to turn the backlight on or off

i dont think they is anyway, not just on yours, i think the light probs u are havin is related to which profile u choose i.e in car its brighter than most to show the clock whilst drivin and etc with other profiles. on mine i dont have an option to turn it on or off. have you check to see if the sleep clock mode is on and not off in the normal profile settings?

i've just checked mine.......no probs with mine in silent mode....clock and light come on fro about 5 seconds and then the screen goes dark.
Mine was a handset only buy from CPW and i have a vodafone sim in mine, if that makes a difference.
