ive been to a wedding today and course i put my phone on silent, when i came to take some pics of my niece i notice no sound came from the camera. i thought this is weird. then i realised it was on silent, i turned silent mode off and it made the click sound put back on silent mode and not a sound. This is a feature that was wanted but i didnt think they put it in, anyone else realised this or have this. Pretty cool i think

Yeah, I read in a review it wasn't possible, and had the same question (http://www.myforum.lasyk.net/showthread.php?p=173415#post173415).
anyway, you can do it quickly by pressing # (mute) it works like that too.

It's alright, my question was hidden in the tips and tricks. I read about the (#) in the K700i section!

from posts i've read on several forums...its network/country specific still not no where near as consistant as with K and S 700i's ....

I'm in the UK and my O2 (very slightly branded) has no shutter sound...which is not like my K700 and S700 (until i flashed it away)

Hope they don't notice

Yeah, bought it simlock free in the Netherlands and I cannot turn the shutter sound off, not even in silent mode :(
do you think firmware can change it??
