For some reason, my T610 is like locked on increasing ringtone. I have went into profiles and tried to edit that and it didn't work. Has anyone else had this problem? is there any other settings or ways to fix it? please help! I hate it, I can't hear my phone till the 3rd ring!

The increasing ringtone can not be disabled on the T610 series phone! Its a saftey precaution, so you wont blast off your ears in case it rings near your head!

If you're making your own ringtones, just leave 2-3 secs empty at the beginning of your tone. That way you'll skip thhe increasing part.

Consumers should be allowed to chose whether or not we blow our ears off

who holds the phone next to your ear all day unless you are on it.......the phone won't ring if you are on another call it beeps

So why have an option to have increasing ring tone that doesn't even work ..... what th F***...... This would have to be the only problem with this awsome phone..... any one agree

Don't give us the option to set it if it does nothing....... aaarrrreggghhhhhh

Sony don't care about our ears they are just covering their "butt" against a law suit. x

EDIT Don't swear please use butt instead of a double s

Well, if you were the company, would you rather give in and be sued all day? Or just add this one thing in and be safe?

To fix this handle problem, just make a midi file, and leave the first 2-3 secs silent, and have your ringtone start after that. Then you wouldnt notice it!!

A friend of mine who works at Best Buy, stereo section, says that another reason why there is an increasing ringtone, because the speaker needs to "warm up" first before blastin the ringtone. If you ever seen the Motorola C333 it has a seperate polyphonic speaker on the back of the phone. It was made for blasting ringtones while the T610 was meant to be used to hear from your ear, and ring ringtones.

I doubt having this increasing ringtone "problem" is the phone's downfall at all.

Not doubting that....

Just every time the phone rings I hear it by the 3rd or 4th ring and because there has been no sound until then is all.......

I wonder just how many people have sued phone company's because the ring tone was too loud......................

It's your own fault.............

look, enough of this squabble the is great, I'll deal with it

You can call your service provider to set how long you want it to ring. I have a friend who call T-Mobile to let it ring for 1 min and 5 secs, so he could hear his whole ringtone before it goes to his voicemail. I'm always pissed off, cuz it takes him so long before he answers!!

None, because SE is playing it safe!!

It's your own fault.............

true, no one told you to put your ear next to the phone when it rings...common sense, but then again, SE is just playin it safe and lookin out for us

look, enough of this squabble the is great, I'll deal with it

Your english is kinda hard to read...i got the first word, and the last four....words in the middle dont make sense!
