For the last time... you can't use other ringtones for messages than the ones the phone allready has. Search the forums plz... this has been asked and answered numerous times.

Proves it was a good question tho.

Wonder if 'home reflashing' might change that. Id like a shorter more mechanical
noise that didnt immediately say OH LOOk I HAVE A TEXT MESSAGE ON MY SONY ERICSSON

Would like my own sounds, but this discussion has been going on since the SE T68i and that's a while ago......

It can be done with SETool...i've just yet to find anything suitable...closest thing i found to something i would like to put on is the "incoming message" sound via codec in metal gear solid2....since its a credit to do 1 or 6 i'm waiting till i have a couple but they aren't easy to come by good quality midi files....

Anyone ?

Itīs change - on to one - the name of alert is still the same - you change the real sound - if U want to change for example messagealert1.mid - U create one that you like and include it in FW in name messagealert1.mid (I donīt know about it more - you need special software for "playing" with fw and also special service cabels to upload it in phone)
I know it from one of the most famous mobile technics from Prague - Czech republic.

If U have any more questions, I try to reply.
