After you have decided which MP3 song you wish to convert into a ringtone, you need to cut the section from it, for this i use COOL MP3 SPLITTER a 7 day trial can be downloaded from download.com (http://www.download.com)
This is a simple program to use once you have selected the file to be cropped, select a cropping method. i use by method 1, i find it far easier. Once you have selected the points to cut, and are happy with your selection click NEXT, the file will automatically save itself into the same directory as the origional, and will keep the same filename, but will have "001" added onto it.
*NOTE: MP3 FILES MUST BE NO LONGER THAN 30 SECONDS*
Once you have cropped the file, you need to convert the settings of the mp3, to do this, i use a program called DB Power Amp, its freeware and can also be downloaded from download.com (http://www.download.com)
Once you have selected the cropped mp3 file, you need to convert it using the settings used in the picture below...
