Guys,

Just got a K700i from Vodafone, Ive managed to upload an mp3 file to the sounds directory and it plays from the Media Player.

However I cant set the mp3 as the ringtone.

It says "Cannot use the file"

After reading several posts, I've come to the conclusion that its because of Vodafone, is there anyway to set mp3's as ringtones?

Do i need to convert mp3 to another format?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

No, Just try this
1. go menu
2. go settings
3. go sound and alerts
4. go down one
5. It should be on that list because mine are!

if its from vodafone...you cannot use mp3s as ringing tones unless you unbrand it.

I have the same problem. I can only set MP3's as ringtones that I have downloaded from Vodafone. They show up in the ringtone section of the phone with a key symbol. MP3's that I have downloaded or bluetoothed from another phone haven't got this key symbol. You can play them on the media player, but when you go to set them as a ringtone, it askes you to activate it. which you can't.

Is there any programs out there that can sort this out (unbrand it). Other K700i's on other networks don't seem to have this trouble.
