you can buy a usb to infrared cable from computer shops at greenhills shopping center. i bought one for 900 pesos. it works. you can buy an original sony ericson usb cable at semicon but according to the guy i talked to, it can't transfer pictures from pc to phone. it can only be used to syncronize your phone to the pc. another advantage of using an infrared is you can use it on other equipment with infrared interface, like printers or other brands of phones. you can also use a bluetooth sub donggle but its around 5000 pesos each. infrared is your best option.

well firstly since you are new at the forums , i should point out to you that there are people from all over the earth who are members of this forum , so it will be appreciate if you would mention your stuff with context to everyone , so regarding the purchase of BT or IR , go to ebay and as for cables, go get the official SE cable .
Secondly you can transfer pictures from your PC to your SE phone just by using SE picture editor to change the file format to .BMP and than transfer it to your phone

i was just reacting to the message posted by certain lallaine_joan. because she's from the philippines, i'm just reacting to her concern. that's my experience here in the philippines. that's why i told her greenhills shopping center. everybody here knows where greenhills is and what stuff can one buy from geenhills. according to Semicon, the official and legal didtributor of SE phones in the philippines, the USB cable that they are selling can not transfer files. it can only be used to syncronize the phone to the PC. i dont know what cables are available in your area, but regarding lallaine_joan's concern, greenhills is her best option

one more thing, most, maybe 99% of celphone users here in the philippines dont go to ebay just to buy celphone stuffs, we go to greenhills shopping center

understood so right now since your area does not sell the official SE cable , it will be best for her to go for BT instead of IR

it depends on her budget, BT is 5 times more expensive here than IR
